Grounded Gives™

Wealth that doesn't give back is just accumulation.

Giving back is not a quarterly press release. It is part of how this firm is built. Three pillars, in three places where money and time can change something concrete: financial education for the people the industry priced out, the local watersheds we actually drink from, and pro bono fiduciary planning for the households who need it most.

The Connection and Intention dividends, paid forward.

Why we give

Beyond Enough is for somebody else.

Our philosophy is built on a single idea: Enough is not a ceiling, it's a compass. When a household defines its Enough Number, what sits beyond that number stops being “more” and starts being a decision — about who to support, where to invest, and what kind of community we actually want to live in.

Grounded Gives™ is how we make that decision structural for the firm. We dedicate fee revenue, planning hours, and team time every year to three pillars where those resources go further than they would in a marketing budget. No quarterly campaigns, no vanity foundations, no “round up at checkout”: a real allocation, reviewed annually, published transparently.

“A fiduciary that won't give back to the people it serves isn't really fiduciary. Just licensed.”

The Three Pillars

Where we give, on purpose.

Three places where a fee-only fiduciary firm has more to offer than money — and three places where time, expertise, and a real check actually move the needle.

Pillar 01

Financial Education

Plain-language fiduciary literacy for the people the industry priced out.

Most financial advice is sold by the people who profit from selling it. Real education shouldn’t be. We bring fee-only, no-commission financial education into communities the industry has historically ignored — with the same rigor we use for high-net-worth clients, in language anyone can use.

What we do

  • Low-cost or no-cost workshops at libraries, community centers, and employer ERGs
  • Plain-language guides on tax, debt, retirement, and estate basics
  • Live Q&A sessions with no product pitch and no sign-up wall

Most financial advice is sold by the people who profit from it. Education shouldn’t be.

Pillar 02

Local Natural Resources

Clean, local water — the most essential resource we share.

Of every natural resource we depend on, water is the most local and the most universal. Grounded Gives™ directs funding and team volunteer hours to watershed protection, river cleanup, and rural water access in the regions our team and clients call home. The work compounds where we live.

What we do

  • Annual giving partnerships with local watershed and conservancy nonprofits
  • Team volunteer days for river cleanups and habitat restoration
  • Funding for clean-water infrastructure in underserved rural communities

The most grounded thing you can give back is to the ground itself.

Pillar 03

Pro Bono Planning

Reduced-fee and pro bono fiduciary planning for the households who need it most.

A real financial plan can change a family’s trajectory. Most families never see one because the work is priced out of reach. We dedicate planning hours every year to teachers, first responders, the recently widowed, single parents, and transitioning veterans — same fee-only fiduciary planning as our paying clients, no strings attached.

What we do

  • Reserved pro bono planning hours for qualifying households each year
  • Partnerships with nonprofits serving educators, first responders, and veterans
  • No referral fees, no conversion targets, no follow-up sales pressure

The work that changes lives shouldn’t only reach those who can afford the bill.

Give With Us

Three ways our members give alongside us.

Grounded Gives™ isn't only the firm's program. It's the structural way our members move beyond Enough — with the tax and planning architecture already coordinated by your CFP® and CPA team.

Start a conversation
  • Donor-Advised Funds

Open and manage a Donor-Advised Fund inside your Grounded plan. We handle the administration, the tax efficiency, and the grant timing — you decide where it goes. Coordinated with your tax and estate strategy.

  • Volunteer Alongside Us

Join a team day at a local watershed cleanup or financial-education workshop. Members and their families are welcome at every Grounded Gives™ event — the calendar is shared with you each quarter.

  • Refer a Pro Bono Recipient

Know a teacher, first responder, recently widowed, or single-parent household who would benefit from a real financial plan? Refer them. We reserve hours every year for the people our members nominate.

The Grounded Practice

“Wealth grows by what it gives, not just by what it earns.”

If giving back is part of how you want your wealth to compound, that's a Financial Practice we know how to build.
